Mamba Maxx/ Nemesis issue - 04.24.2007, 02:46 AM

I have a Mamba Maxx controller and a Nemesis blue 7xl motor, but for some reason I can't get it to work at all. I bought the motor new from Fine Design, tried it on 6 cells and 12 cells, both with a reciever pack and without and it just sits there and cogs, doesn't turn in any direction. Any ideas?

Have you tried another ESC? Or another motor on this ESC?
If all the connections are right, and your ESC is in brushless mode, you might have a defective unit.

But on second thought, you may just have your ESC in brushed mode. Please chack this first.

The esc works fine with other motors, so maybe the motor's bad.

What are you running this in? I did have some troubles running a 7XL with a MM in heavier vehicles. I couldn't gear small enough. When I went to an 8XL things got much better.

On the other hand, Finedesign has a reputation for selling crap and then not supporting it either. I can speak from experience.

Are you sure that you didn't use screws that were too long mounting the motor? Screws that are too long can mess up the windings in the motor.

I'm running a fegaio 7XL with a MM and no troubles, I think the motor is the issue here

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

The motor has no pinion, so there is no load on it. Maybe the solder joints on the motor wires aren't good enough?

Thats possible, if the current can't get to one of the poles, it can't turn
