Fastland Bulkheads problem. -
06.20.2005, 01:26 PM
I recieved my bulkheads nice and quick today.
But when I cam to fit them the bottom Pivot bars don't go in, because there are no threads in the bulkhead, and it is impossible to just screw them in.
It came with these 2 little poles which are to small for the pivot bars so I guess their the braces.
How do I put the pivot bars in?

Are you talking about the bumper mount holes? if so you just go through them, use it with the x brace for bulks.
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I'm guessing your talking about the hinge pins (things that connect the arms to the bulkhead). With alu bulkheads you'll need to get different hinge pins, the stockers won't work.....I might be talking about completely the wrong thing, but I hope this helps.

So I just bought bulkheads that don't work because I need different hinge pins?
Where do I get them from? Also, why is my rear bulkheads not the same as the picture and the front bulkheads are the same design as the rear stock bulkheads?!

I see your in the UK, like me. As far as I know, nowhere in the UK stocks them (a google search might prove different - or even ebay) Other than that, www.stormerhobbies.com , www.greatassemblyrc.com , www.unlimitedengineering.com , there are plenty more, these are off the top of my head

Right, anyway, what are the long poles for with the cups that fasten either end?
What are they for?

I think your talking about the turnbucles, but I thought the problem was with the hinge pins. The turnbucles attach the wheel knuckle to the bulkhead, anf the hinge pins run through the bulkhead and throught the A-arms....It might be better to explain with pictures.....

Right:
I have the Fastlane bulkheads and the stock hinge pins (that join the arms to the bulkheads) don't work because there are no threads for them in the bulkhead.
It also came with some bars same width but not length as the hinge pins that have 2 small brass clips to fasten on both ends of it. What are these? Are these the hinge pins?
Also, why isn't my rear bulk the same as the one in the picture? Another thing is the FL front bulkheads are the same as the rear stock in design but the rear ones I got are completley different?

Yes, they are the hinge pins. They should fit through the bulkheads, and the e-clips snap on either end. (always have lots of spare e-clips, cos they like to go bye bye - like body clips)
As for the bulk design, I don't know (I have great assembly bulks). Silly question, but you don't have the 2 mixed up? - the front bulks have that odd little hole cut in them, and the rears are more like the stock ones.

Right I have checked my order and I have the wrong front bulks, or so it seems

I have the "FLM17002 Front Bulkheads" not 7001!
Also if they are hinge pins that came with it, they arn't long enough for the rear and my RPM arms.
The Bulkheads I have look different to the picture and do not work with the "hinge pins" supplied.

RPM arms are always a problem cos they're so big. You will have to take off some excess material, to allow them to fit.

This is becoming stupid.
So I've got 2 bulkheads, one is a different product number to what I orderd and the other looks alot different to the picture.
The hinge pins supply don't fit my RPM arms either, so it was basicly pointless me buying these bulkheads.
I'm totaly confused.

Heres a picture of the rear bulk on the site:
Mine has another section on the end to hold the end of the hinge pin. Not just an empty space like the picture?
