How much $ are you looking to spend? I had the Plettenberg Maxximum in mine when I had it.

They will set you back about $220 but would have no trouble getting you to 40mph. They are rated at 3100kv - and they look cool too.

I would think for a vehicle of that size, an L can would be plenty. I've got a Feigao 10L that I need to sell, it's a 2458Kv motor and has maybe 10 runs on it. I bought it to run 4S on, and now I've decided to go 5S, so I need a different Kv motor. The Kv is a bit lower than you want, but you should be able to gear up from there, and that lower Kv will be easier on your ESC too. My loss is your gain, $45 shipped.

i run a 9l on 3s and its plenty and the temps are great w/o fans geared for around 32mph, so a 10l would be good to for more speed

I too would look for an L size motor around the 3000 kv range to use with that 3s pack. Especially since you'll be running 2.2" rims, which is like gearing up a tooth or two because they are larger than stock.

If you get a Feigao (or equivalent) motor, shoot for 35k rpm max. If you get one of the smaller Neu motors, you can easily shoot for 40-45k max rpm.

My crt.5 had a 10l running 3s lipo. I had jato rear tires on it all around and ran a 20 tooth pinion. Close to 40mph with that setup and it ran well. Plenty of power, but a few holes in the body to get some air in will help the motor and esc temps. I have also run a 9l but do not see too much difference. If sleebus will come off his motor for a good price you should go ahead with that.
