A Few Questions. - 12.13.2007, 08:28 PM

Over the last few weeks I've been planning building a E-Revo. I can't decide if I want to do a Direct Drive outrunner setup like Sikeston34m, or just a "normal" inrunner setup (probably a Lehner or similar,) with the Revo transmission. The main things I am looking for is: little to no cogging, great acceleration, as lightweight as can be (~8LBS,) and something that'll work well on 4s-5s LiPo packs. I would particularly like to use the Impulse packs because they are available readily at my local hobby shop. I would like to run the inrunner setup of possible because of the fact that i can use a Mamba Max ESC. I hear some places that the new FET's on the Mamba ESC's only allow them to run 3s LiPo. Is that true? If so, I may go with the outrunner setup, (but would like inrunner to cut down on ESC costs, (without having to use a air ESC and a PiStix, becuase I'd like to use motor brakes.)) What would be the best inrunner setup for a ~8.5LB E-Revo on 4s LiPo (i believe 4500mAh.) I was thinking about using a Lehner 1940/8, Mamba Max, 4s LiPo, and 18/36 gearing. If heat is not an issue, I may use the Lehner 1940/7. What do you guys think of this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
