hey guys for some reaosn my spektrum has a 20 foot radius untill it goes out of range. what could this be from? ive tried 2 different receivers and ive taken the remote apart. the antenna clips on to a peice inside the remote so i tried messing w/ it but nothing helped i even soldered the peices together instead of it being a clip and it didnt help.

anything else i could try?

I had this happen with my MX-3. What setup are you using in the car? Are you using a BEC?

I would look at the receiver. I've had one where the antenna wire had a partial break and had intermittent short range. After replacing it, no issues. Also, even though it is 2.4GHz, try to keep it away from the BL motor wires because of the noise.

i figured since it was spektrum where i placed it didnt matter. ill try moving it.

and no BEC im running a neu motor w/ 16018 mgm and 4s FP packs

It shouldn't, but those motor wires can be VERY noisy and wash out the signal. Is your antenna mounted on or near the metal chassis? If it's too close, all that metal in close proximity could change the tuning frequency of the antenna making reception poor.

That still has a switching BEC... its just built into the MGM. It can still cause radio noise. Brian has you on the right track.

Maybe try moving it onto the battery in a temporary location to see if that helps.

You might want to get a Rx box, jeeze. :)

Encloses the Rx, makes less noise interference and protects the Rx from the elements.

I can't say I'm liking the battery mounts you have in your cars

Is there anything stopping the mud guard screws and nuts from putting dents in the bottom of that lipo off big jumps?

I think the plastic battery tray Mike has in his store is meant for those cells...

And, the next time I decide to make some trays, I plan to make a how-to article showing the process. I think I'll do a fiberglass version first and then maybe one showing the metal trays I like to make.
