Everything O.K. at Quark? - 12.28.2007, 01:31 PM

I called Quark today figuring the holiday should be over.
I got the # of off their never updated site [(310) 527-0002]
to find it had been changed. I called the new number, and it went straight to voicemail as if it was a cell phone. So I looked up the number to find out it IS a cell phone!

I don't find it very reassuring to have a distribution company like Quark operating over a cell line. Anyone else know anything? Are they going out of business?

That IS disturbing. I would give it until Monday 1/7/2008; the Christmas holiday is over, but many people (and small businesses) might be taking these two weeks off.

I'm hoping it's just vacation time too. But I'm still worried that it's a changed number, and not just a not answered number or a voice mail.

I've been getting email responses from them about my 80 amp ESC.

They had me test a few things. That wasn't it, so they told me to send it on in.

No Worries. Drop them an email and be patient. I'm sure they are still trying to catch back up, IF they are back to work full force yet.

I talked to someone from there about a month or so back about getting an RA#, and he gave me an address to send my controller in to. Curiously, based on the way the phone was answered, I looked the address up on Google Earth, it was to a residence. The guy I talked to didn't seem to have any qualms about me sending it though. Also told me that no RA was necessecary.

huh... funny. It may be a problem with Quark's US distributor since Sky & Tech's HQ is based in Seoul, South Korea.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

Was the address in Torrance, Ca (new) or Carson, Ca (old)?

It sounds like they don't ask many questions. They just send a new one out. I hope I get a NEW 80 amp from them.

I have really had alot of fun with mine. It just quit one day. I really think that it thermaled and the thermistor did not reset. There was no smoke. I opened it and everything looks normal.

Well I can say this. There are many companies that opperate from a home office. If you think about it there's not much room required to run that type of business. Million dollar companies are run from home every day.

When you called on Wed. did you get the recording that the number was changed? Did you end up getting through on the new number or the old?
