mamba help.. (not working) - 01.05.2008, 05:24 PM

ok got in a new MM esc put it in the truck, programmed it all fine. all worked great.. (running 2 titans in a E-maxx)running 4s lipo charged and ready, using a receiver batt. ...red wire to receiver is pulled already, stays on yellow till hit the throttle then goes green and yellow .. motors run slowly .. reverse same thing... .. Its in brushed mode not high power brushed. have tried reprograming the radio to it and nothing.

ok I think my reciever pack is bad.. just charged it the other day but the truck runs fine on the internal bec with a 6 cell pack. (truck is really slow though)on 4s it is right but will overheat the internal bec and keep trying to reset itself after a couple mins.. will get this checked and updated.

I think I was wrong It might be the lipo cutoff.. Ran fine when it was off, turned it back on and nothing.. The pack is fully charged.

Do you run a custom voltage or the auto detect for cutoff?

ok now I think it might be partly due to the 4s voltage.. when running the receiver pack with the 4s throttle is green, yellow both and wide open the wheels barely turn. when using a 6cell 3300 pack it works fine.this might be the prob. I hope not though.

You could do like I did and run an external LVC. I use the Cellshield by dimension engineering. It monitors eacy cell via the balance adapter (any configuration) and has a soft shut off with the option of a temp probe to failsafe to 140* too.

The only issue is that if you run reverse (I don't) it will throw the car into reverse when you get past the "soft" cutoff, as it's designed for airplanes with a zero signal that equates to a cars reverse.

Something wrong there. On mine I get yellow at neutral, then flashing green at part throttle and solid green at full.

You could be overtraveling (set the E.P.A. to 100%) or not zero'd to neutral properly.

Mabey you need to reverse the channel? Give me a minute and I'll enable reverse on mine to see what the lights do. You could program the "reverse throttle" to 100% and see if it goes faster?

No, don't think that's it. when I enable reverse I get flashing red at part reverse and solid red at full reverse.

I think it's not in neutral properly. I know to program it you have to hold the throttle wide open with the battery plugged in, but the esc switch off. It then rings the motor and you ge through the setting procedure. I think if it's not in neutral when you turn it on it will act funny.
