got sand? - 07.02.2009, 06:13 AM

Just some pics of my trucks ready for the weekend, headed for Lake Michigan.

Stats:

14 paddle tires

88.8 volts

4 MMMV3

4 Neus (2 1515 1Y S, 1515 2.5D F, 1521 1Y S)

8 LST2 diffs (both e-revos are running LST2 diffs)

4 Airtronics MX-3FG 2.4GHz FHSS-2 Radios

e-revos are geared for 50 mph and the lst2 are geared for 40 mph

I'm one person short of being able to run them all at once on the beach, both of my sons (ages 7 and 9) will be driving one apiece and of course I will be piloting one, still need one more driver.

I'm just hoping the lst2 diffs hold up. Still having problems breaking the pins that hold the output cups to the side gears in the diffs. I did check into using 8ight pins but they are the same part number, the 8ight does have a different part number for the spider gears themselve but the little pins are the same. I should mention this is only happening in the lst2 not the revos. I have a total of 3 e-revos that are running the lst2 diff conversion.

One of those LST2 look familiar! Any naked pics of it?

Good choice on the paddle tires. Proline Maxx Paddle grab but they "scoop" sand and throw it everywhere! So even idling through some is throwing sand all over...

Nice man, have lots of fun over the holiday. Its always good to have backups, you can never have enough (not that my wife agrees w/ that statement lol)

I can't wait until my boy is old enough to really wheel a truck. He's only 3, but is in training and does a decent job w/ my .5. Kids learn quick :)

Nitro, actually your truck has the blue body on it now. We (my youngest and myself) totally trashed our first baja body, so after I purchased your truck I swaped that body on.

Both of my sons have 2 years under their belts driving now, my youngest is the better driver, just because he doesn't go full throttle all the time. My oldest is always full speed ahead, scares the crap out of his mom when he is on the family dirt bike (50cc green of course).

Nice collection you've got there. My situation is exactly opposite from yours. I'm trying to get my dad into rc. He wants to build a truggy like mine, but money is the issue.

Do you like the paddle tires. I just got back from running a truggy in some giant giant sand dunes. It was such a large area, 45 mph seemed like 30. Step dunes would have been better with more traction. Next time I would like to get more speed and traction to fly off the suckers. We were running a Jammin CRT and some Rustlers. The Rustlers had paddles, but the aren't as much fun as 1/8th scale stuff.

Awesome rides! Be careful with the trannies and diffs though. Make sure you thoroughly clean them. Also, Michigan ftw!
