Spektrum DX2.0 interference - 02.28.2008, 01:17 PM

I incorrectly thought that the 2.4GHz systems were free from interference. I now have a road-rash scar on my left hand to prove they are not free from interference.

My new CRT.5 EXT (from BlackedOutREVO) took off full throttle when I was holding it. The radio was on the ground next to me, so I know I didn't bump the throttle. Anyway, it's taken off by itself a few times now.

I have the receiver and antenna as far from the power/motor wires as I can get. I even have the power/motor wires twisted.

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening again?

Interesting, I hadn't thought about it before, but it does seem to only happen when the rx/tx are close together.

I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Thanks!

Any other ideas while the thread's still live?

What motor are you using? You get a new MM already?

I mounted my spektrum RX on the servo, and I didnt have issues

For now I'm just using the 5700 you had in there with a new Sidewinder on 2s lipo. I'll probably try a 4600/MM combo from my Rustler on 3s, and I'll likely try the VXL system from my Stampede as well on 3s. I haven't sent your old MM in yet.

I'll try mounting the rx on the servo.

If it does contact horizon because they replaced mine which did the same thing at close range (except it would go to fail safe positions).
I'll try re-binding too.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have the same issues IF I turn the RC on before I turn the radio on. If I turn the radio off then the RC goes nuts (jerks forward and backward) If I turn the radio on first then there is no issue if I turn the radio off while the RC is still on. Weird but it happens. Wish I knew why but I make sure I turn the Radio on first every time.

Yeah, I always turn the radio on first too. Pretty standard, yeah?

This actually happens after both have been on for a while. It will be driving fine in every direction, but when I bring it back to me and it's stopped, it'll randomly take off. It doesn't jerk or go backwards. It goes full throttle for about 5 seconds then stops. The most recent time it happened, I was holding the truck from the bottom and the center diff gear ate part of my middle finger. Apparently I didn't learn from the first time it happened. Yowzah!

So far, I'm thinking MTBikerTim has it nailed. I'm remembering now that this system did the same thing in my Axial crawler. It just wasn't as dramatic because full throttle is so slow compared to the Sidewinder/5700 in the CRT.5. I actually just bought a second DX2.0 tx/rx, so when it gets here I'll do some experimenting.

Yeah that doesnt sound like a glitch

If re binding doesnt work, nor the new RX/TX then theres something wrong with the ESC id say..

Most likely it needs a re bind tho, glitching doesnt happen like that really.....
