gearing help for a muggy?? - 05.20.2008, 11:56 PM

well, it's kinda too late to post this, but what the heck; I ordered a 12T and an 18T pinion for my Muggy. It will be powered by: MMM, Neu 1515 2200kv, 6S 5k zippy. Will I be ok with those gears? I think I should be safe, but does anyone here see overheating as an issue??

Overheating could be an issue with the 18t pinion, but you should be fine with the 12t pinion gear. Just watch temps closely during the first couple runs.

yeah, I figured the 12 would be safe, and may make track use possible ;). I was guessing the 18 would be ok ONLY because I saw someone here succesfully use a 22T(!) in a Muggy, though it was with a 1521 1577kv.

12 tooth should be ok (and plenty fast), the 18 would likely be too much
