need a digi cam for italy! - 05.25.2008, 02:56 PM

helllllooo

some of you may know im going to italy and a couple other places during summer.

im going to want a little better digi cam then the one i have right now
http://cgi.ebay.com/SAMSUNG-S630-6MP...QQcmdZViewItem

im not saying mine is terrible just would like something a little more suitable for what im going to be taking pics of.

i figure i can spend less than 300 for something nice. 10mp or somewhere around there.

im not looking for nothing professional just something that is nice and takes clear pics!

maybe something like this?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....prd90700050031

im not sure!

i know there has to be some photography gurus up in here.

thanks for your help guys!

I have always been happy with the casio's. Slim, feature full, easy interface, and fast shutter rate. Check out amazon.com too, usually cheaper than best buy.

Italy eah?? Well the 10 mega pixel thing for $300 is kind of hard to justify. Anything that high in MP that is worth a crap will be much more than $300. I bought my wife a Sony Cybershot TC-9 and we love this camera. She also has the Sony DCF-8 $1K, wich is a nice camera but for the money the smaller one is a better camera for vacations. You want something that is small and easy to transport about with you, and easy to conceal so it will not be an easy target for pick pockets. The TC-9 is the thinest camera I know of with a real punch for the money. It is pretty versital and it takes great pictures. The battery lasts a long time and it has the instant on feature that is very cool. Good luck in your quest and on your trip. We hope you enjoy your visit with Italy.

Here is what I got for my wife. It's down to 185 from the 250 I paid late last year. Fits easily into your pocket and accepts up to 8 gig sd cards.

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-EX-S880-...744533&sr=1-13

and a link to SD cards:

http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-8GB-...sim_p_title_22

That gets you in under budget and will do every thing you want. My wife takes a lot of pictures and has never even filled up her 4gig car so the 8 would give you plenty of space for your trip.

It also has built in settings for doing youtube format movies and so on.
