Lazy, bored, call it what you will. - 06.01.2008, 12:26 PM

In the absence and changes that have been made to what or what not the new E Revo will have in it I was wondering if the stock ESC and motor will handle lipo's??? My question is due to the fact I have a Neu motor (Tekno 1515 1.5) along with 2 maxamps 2s 8k lipos coming monday. I have a feeling the MMM that I have preordered will not be too soon. So will I be able to run my E Revo with the Lipo's and or Neu motor and stock ESC? I am guessing not. Just do not want to buy two stick packs to run the stock set up when it will not be used too long. Thanks

The stock ESC will not be able to run the Neu motor, but you will be able to run your lipo packs with it as long as you can wire in a LVC somewhere...

I actually think the stock titans are pretty fast. with good batteries atleast. my buddies got a 3905 emaxx and its pretty quick. top speed is a little low but acceleration is brisk.

that evx2 waterproof controller is a know battery fryer though. I wouldnt trust it. Traxxas just denys there is an issue and sends you a new controller but wont pay for your batteries. Its happened to many people including myself. Id say look at the threads in the Traxxas Emaxx forum but they delete any mention of faulty controllers or fried batterys. be warned lol... Id just pull the esc and motors out and throw them on ebay, get about $100 and get something else.

Point noted. I really do not want to fry my packs. Thanks

I can't see how any ESC can fry batteries without burning up themselves. I mean, to fry any kind of battery, that power has to go somewhere, generally as heat.

IDK it fried kinda crappy tenergy 4500s under abusive running. the esc actually runs really cool and will just get warm.

gp3300s are still going strong in his truck.

It's probably just the system pulling more current than the cells can take. I assume the EVX2 probably acts like a larger "pipe" for the current to flow, so the motor(s) are free to pull as much as they need.

So what is the ESC on the E Revo rated at? Can it handle 2s? If so I will just run them parallel then and have 16000mah on 2s for the time being until I get my MMM.

No kidding? So I could run my packs then in series to achieve 4s. Will the motors handle 4s though? Basically I am looking for a way to run the Revo when I get it until I get the MMM. Thanks

yeah the motors run pretty good on 4s...and they last a good while as long as your not running oversize tires or gearing up. truck goes 33 on 14 cell so I image 35+ can be had on stock gearing with lipos. Its definately faster than I though it would be.

Wow this is good news to me. I am happy to be able actually to run it with the stock ESC and motors with my lipos. I will really be able to tell what the Neu motor and MMM do for performance wise over the stock stuff then.
