hacker for 8th scale on 4s - 07.18.2008, 05:14 PM

Hey all. I have a converted hellfire that does not agree with cheap feigao's. Lucked up on a sale thread for some used hackers at a good price. Would you go 8xl and gear up or 7xl for use on 4s lipo ?

Just want your thoughts :). If the feigao's aren't holding up for me, is hacker enough higher quality to handle a fairly heavy conversion on the relatively lower voltage of 4s ? I'm wanting to get the 2 pole hacker so I can use my bk9920. I was leaning toward the 8xl so I would have room to jump up to 5 or 6s in the near future....

hacker 8xl = 1973kv
hacker 7xl = 2254kv

I'd go for the 8xl. Gives you much more room for gearing changes, and you can run a higher voltage if you ever wanted to. The 8XL should run cooler as well.

Yep, 8XL would be great. Probably gear it very similar to the feigao it replaces, assuming that was an 8XL also.

Was running 9xl on 15t, currently 8xl on 13t after the 9xl fried. I have 13,15,18t mod1 pinions.
