RCM motor heat sinks - 08.09.2008, 05:55 PM

Mike i am about to put another order in with you but have a question on you motor heatsinks.

I'll be putting them on both my Medusa 36-60 motors . Your S size heat sinks are showing that they work up to L size so they will fit the 60mm Medusa , is this correct or should i order the L size.

Also when will you have more stock of the CC Sidewinder .
Being in Australia i want to order everything together since postage is so high.

Cheers

The S size will work, but wont come to the end of the motor (51mm I think). To use the clamp part you would just need longer screws. The L size would work full length but may not clamp (61mm I think). I don't know if you need the clamp part for the Medusas.

No real need to use the clamp feature, as the front enbell is integral to the can. The rear plate is pressed on, so the clamp may help that. I use std clip on heatsinks for my medusas...

Thanks linc , not even thinking that the Medusa is 36mm like standard brushed motors
Have a couple of normal heatsinks lying around .

If you have issues with the rear endbell coming off then the clamp may be a good idea. I will continue to run the std clip on heatsinks... You are welcome BTW!

If the L size heatsink is only 1mm longer than the motor I'd go with that and just use some type of spacer if you need to clamp it. I like that idea more than using the S size heatsink with longer screws for the clamp. It has more surface area to dissipate heat anyways.
