1/8 Losi BL System - 02.10.2009, 10:43 PM

Ok to make a long story short I am ordering a losi 1/8 bl system(I always screw up the spelling so i'm not even going to try) and I want to know what are the hits and misses this system has. I know its geared to racing more but is it a worth system to bash with? I got a killer deal($230 NIB)so I'm pretty happy but I don't want to throw my money away.

PS: the motor is the 2100 KV edition

What are you putting it in? Monster truck? Buggy? Truggy?

I'm sure someone else can give you better details, but I really haven't heard the greatest things about it.....especially when you can get a MMM with a Castle/Neu for the same or better price. Sorry, I do hope it works well for you, and I look forward to reading some reviews from you. Let us know how it goes. Thanks!

I just started using the system myself (2100KV motor) in an 8ight buggy. It is strong and ran very cool. Especially for the price you paid it is worth it. I learned the hard way if you read my other post about the system, you need to tune it down from the default setting. I had never run a buggy before or one of the Losi systems.

First run I just messed around in front of my house never hitting WOT. Second battery I went to an empty parking lot and let it rip, it blew the foams out of the Losi factory mounted tires. So it is a good strong system to say the least.

The software took a call to Losi to get installed, but once on it works well enough. I do like the Castle software better, it is a little better polished. However Losi so far has been prompt with the updates and they seem very serious about refining the system.

It does not seem as smooth as Castle, but that could be me needing to work with the ESC (and changing my center diff fluid) .

Over all I am happy I tried it, I think it is great that so many companies are producing 8th scale products, should be good for us in the long run.

It will be going into my newly converted 1/8 buggy. My lhs has it for about $325 out the door and I can buy this system for $250 to my door. I imagine programming won't be hard with the programming card that comes ith it. I am planning on running a 5s set-up.

anyone else?

PS: I want to warn all of you guys me and other racers used the losi 17.5 in our stadium trucks and buggys and they are not worth it at all. The 13.5 seems fine but it might be a bad batch of 17.5. Ive heard/seen nothing but bad things about them at the track. The 13.5 is finniky i've seen it act like it was running on a 1s lipo and i've seen it mutplie times shut off completely.
