i gave up on my budget conversion and bought a used flux -
12.01.2009, 11:54 PM
both of my KB motors failed due to the rotors separating and i just don't like how the conversion was turning out. the batteries were velcroed in place and i realized that it would cost a small fortune to get it how i wanted it.
$120 for a TORK 2200kv off ebay
$50 for the bulletproof diffs
$20 for a new motor mount
$30 for the battery trays
$? for better dogbones and drive cups (i have the old nitro weak ones)
$50 for extended flux chassis plates
and the list goes on....
so, i started the search for a used flux. after adding all the costs, it was CHEAPER to get this flux instead upgrading my savage. this way, i will have tons of spare parts for this new truck. i'm not a big fan of SMC, but hopefully their 9000mah packs aren't as bad as the 5000 and 6000 packs.
link (no, not you pimp ): http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/ite...4692&cobrand=1
i just paid the invoice. i won't say the price, but look at what he was asking and add free shipping i talked him down $25 more, but he wanted money order or check, so i offered to cover the costs of the fees with a little extra. i'd rather have a little more peace of mind than take a chance. so hopefully, if things go sour with this deal, i have a good chance of getting a refund.
edit: he is also including the stock chassis plates. does anyone know which extended plates those are? i wanna saw TCS, but i'm not sure...
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

Good for you. Looks like 1OffRC TVP's on it. You got a good buy there.
Do you have the tranny from the conversion you were doing? If so, any interest in selling it?
Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

more pics
edit: since i already have a MMM esc, i will most likely just test this one to make sure it works good and then sell it. that way, i'll have money to get a couple of turnigy 3 40c packs. my 3s 25c flightmax packs got a little warm for my liking in my 10lb buggy when geared for 30mph. (medusa 2000kv 60mm)

you didn't get a bad deal either. yours is still brand new. judging by the pics, mine hasn't been beat up too bad, but it wasn't babied.
the lowest i've seen a NIB savage go for is $550, and it turned out to be a scam. i'm hoping for the both of us that ours aren't scams. they both seem almost too good to be true if you ask me.

Ya me too!!! Especially since mine didn't have any "actual" pics of the real rig. We will see. I guess all I have is PayPal on my side and the fact that he/she had perfect feedback. This is actually the most I have gambled on a ebay auction.

wow, small world
i think you are a little safer from being scammed than i am. e-bay is usually pretty safe. if the truck is new, pics shouldn't really matter anyway. i only went through paypal and rcu. if something goes wrong, it's completely up to paypal to bail me out. i bought mine just a couple of hours ago.
which hobby store do you go to? if you haven't been to cutting edge hobbies yet, they are a small, new, family owned business and they actually help you with your problems without nickel and diming you to death. a bunch of us get together on Sundays to bash and sometimes race. you should check it out sometime.
i know of a couple of good bashing spots. the problem is, the terrain is too rough for my rustler and my buggy, so that's another reason i'm eager to get my flux. recently, skateparks have been my bashing spots of choice. they're great for learning air control and judging speed needed to clear gaps.

LOL ya I have been there a few times and may have met you there. I work at Ashley Furniture and my buddy and I always try and shoot over there in time on Sundays but always seem to either miss the action or nothing is going on. Cutting edge is not too bad they helped my buddy with a couple consignments when he was kinda hurtin for casholla.

if you've seen someone run a Brushless CEN matrix buggy like a jackass, chances are, it was me
what do you normally run there?
