When will we see more KV choices in the 1/8th motors from Castle? I would really like to see a 1600kv.

The 1800 is in beta testing right now. Since they are using a 1Y in all their motors, they are lengthening the motors to lower the kv. At some point, the motors will be quite large and heavy, which is fine for larger MT's, etc, but too large for a buggy, and maybe even a truggy unless you want ridiculous speed and power.

I have been holding out for the 1800kv offering from Castle. Mostly due to the nice sealed design, wiring, quality etc. But I didn't realize it was going to be even larger than the 2200kv motor. The only thing I've got left to buy for my 6s Mugen MBX5T is the ESC and motor. Do you think a MedUsa 70mm is a better fit size wise? It's just going to be a basher.

I don't see why the 1800 wouldn't be just fine as long as it physically fits. The larger motor will stay cooler over a broader range of gearing. And if going to Medusa, I would go with an 80mm version for the extra cooling and torque in a truggy. I would only go with the 70mm if you were racing only and for short durations. In that case, less weight and lower torque might be better.

Ive been trying to explain to my neighbors and friends (nitro drinkers) who move into brushless.. how fast and for how long ? easily calculated. dont expect things that physics cant deliver and be surprised at what it can..mutts
