My 3905 MMM combo pics

Thanks for all who helped with my questions here is my bashing beauty/beast
I swapped from twin VXL'S to the MMM combo 18/68 on 6s 2 3s 5000 25c zippys

temps after bash session

esc fan running but never thermal-ed

next is to mount up my SPI aluminum 1" deep dish off set wheels for 2" wider stance without using those cheesy extensions that tend to break and look like garbage.

Metal towers and metal body posts is a big no-no, if you have a nasty upside incident you will bend the towers like a banana- stick to plastic posts, or metal posts and plastic towers.

Rest of it looks fine- maybe flip the series harness so its tucked in under the motor for a cleaner look. How does it compare to the Vtwit* setup?

to be honest other then a little less weight an a gain in room under the lid. Im not impressed with the difference.........I like the programing ability but power wise 3s v-twin geared 22/68 vs 6s MMM 18/68 similar speed and power

I get better temps and can tune with the MMM but have to keep a close eye on my batteries of choise and have my cutoff at 18.7v just to be safe

v-twin you can run any batteries you want without worries of killing anything and at the time it was a great set up "keep in mind this was before the MMM was even out let alone the combo" Im so glad I waited for bugs to get worked out


and I plan on ditching the body post asap I just need to find some good round plastic ones to replace them with

At 18/68 you wont see much difference, but you can gear that setup to top out at around ~60mph or so. Granted, the V-twin can do the same, but the MMM is lighter and simpler, and much more tweakable.
The MMM system is more demanding on the batts for sure, but, top end systems require top end components really- the better the batts the higher you can gear for and still stay cool.

i've been wanting some of those spi wheels. How do you like them? What'd you pay?

Very true high end systems require better juice but for now I have no choice as a good set of lipos would cost more then the truck did. Well almost...minus the wheels, bulks, and such...and I just dont have that kind of cash at my disposal

Besides I want to ditch my maxx for an e-revo, but until the prices drop where I can get a roller that I can put my electronics in for cheep or trade for my maxx. I'm stuck with budget lipos, temp gun, and fire extinguisher

I got the wheels off a maxx I bought from feabay 6months before the 3905 maxx came out that had them on it with a nice custom painted body, roll cage, cvd's, 7 cell 3300 gp batts "before lipos were being used by many people"

I love the wheels they give you less turning radius but super stable turns....the truck will slide vs flip over as much and with alloy hex's you dont strip wheels plus life time warrenty through spi

I see your problem.

There are lots of bargains to be had on ebay and other forums with people selling up to make some extra cash, but then, that makes selling your truck equally kinda difficult, unless you can find a good trade for a roller, but then the emaxx and erevo dont have equal value so a pairt exchange + cash would be your only hope...

If you are trying to run the same speed either system will draw the same from the batteries. I would actually say the MMM/combo is more efficient than the vxl so it should be slightly easier on the batts.

Vehicle speed, tire weight and drag will determine the wattage requirements for the truck, if the motor efficiency is the same the amp draw from the lipos will be the same too.

The more demanding comment may refer to the fact that the MMM motor can produce more torque than the twin vxl setup.... So the systems may not be equal.
