New 8th scale System from LRP - 07.25.2009, 01:01 AM

More news from LRP who have released their new 1/8 Brushless System. The new Vector8 brushless modified motor is based on the IFMAR World Championship winning XTEC X12 brushless modified technology. This motor is specifically tailored for 1/8 Off Road racing with its longer teardown with special cooling fins, longer stack, magnet and shaft for higher torque and maximum performance. To control that motor, LRP release the new SPX8 Competition brushless speedo which is based on one of the most successful competition speed controllers, the Sphere Competition TC-Spec. It now features a special 1/8 software and has especially been optimised for the use with 2S-4S LiPo batteries. The result is a high-end speed control that will enthuse the 1/8 electric R/C car scene.

My opinion- Looks like a 10th scale system with some bandaids, same tricks as the days of the Mamba max and feigao... fan on the motor, and capacitor and fan on the speed control.. wonder what that motor is like.

Too bad, only 4s lipo capable... probably around 2000 - 2500kv. then, it looks like a nice motor; if only they had a 6s suitable kv., then I might consider it.

Says rated for 2S-4S. Which means the kv has to be super low. Probably ~3000-3500. Fail.

Well, I'm sure they wouldn't use such a 'high' kv. like that for 4s lipo... maybe they are going to have a couple different models, one for 2s, 3s, and 4s?

Who in their right mind would make a 2S specific system for 8th scale?

Are those vent holes I see on each end of the motor can? Hopefully they don't have a fan in there...

THe bottom motor pic, they look like stupid vents? Looks like ugly aesthetics if that's the case...

You're right. That's weird, those "vents" aren't in the pic above it.
