Have a bad bearing . - 02.04.2010, 09:10 PM

Hi,

One of my 1515-1Y Castle motors has a bad front bearing. Can I just change this bearing myself and not bother you folks with a simple fix, will this void any warentee I may have ?

Thanks,
J.

Hardcore! Has that little guy seen any snow? Should be an easy repair on your own.

You will be in need of a hammer. When I inspect my CC 1515 internally I found the front bearing was GLUED into the front endcap.

....What a Blue Sky....

I'm ready to order bearings , concerned w/warentee issues if I do this because I want to order some higher qaulity jobbers. They will easily be indentified as not Factory installed.

I imagine that as long as you don't send it in for warranty repairs and they determine that your bearing or install job was at fault for the failure they'll honor the warranty. I changed out the front bearing on my 1717 by putting part of the sparkplug wrench for my Baja up to the bearing and giving it a good whack with a hammer. New bearing popped in pretty easily.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.
