Weird MMM issue... -
03.23.2010, 05:50 PM
I have had my MMM for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly in my E-revo. This winter my new project was a Hyper9e, so today I plug in my battery ESC and Motor and when I give it throttle it revs up and kinda floats back down. And sometimes it just randomly goes into reverse . And now it does the triple beep and then flashes red infinity. The BEC wire is slightly damaged but the wire is fully intact and not touching anything. I've tried two motors, two receivers, recalibrating and completely different radios. I hope this is not a noob thread but I am stumped. I made a movie to demonstrate. Its just taking forever to upload so i'l put it in the next post.

Those are some strange noises. As mentioned above, try a firmware update just for kicks. Try fixing that broken wire and then see what happens....you may want to forward clip to pdlecast..who is owner of castle so he can hear prob.

Well the new firmware fixed the red blinking light but not the "floating" motor problem. I must be a ESC or Spektrum transmitter problem. Could anyone from castle chime in??Thanks
EDIT: spoke too late...

Throttle trim/sub-trim perhaps?

There is a cat stuck in your motor. Problem solved!

I also added sub-trim to my suggestion but looks like those seem to be in order. Maybe apply some WD-40 to the throttle trigger hinge?

Figured it out, my Trx radio and my 1 year old spektrum DX3s are both bad. Tried another of my trx radios and worked flawlessly. Anybody know where i should start to try and get a replacement radio?

Is the radio that works the same one that was used with the E-revo?

The throttle pot could be just dirty or worn...
I really wish radios would come with encoded controls instead of crappy pots...

Yeah, it transmits just fine, it just is overly sensitive.....like super sensitve (wind blows hits throttle...jolt). What's the easiest way to go about opening this thing up? Do you guys have any recommendations on how to clean it? WD-40......

Cleaning it will only work if the pot is in fact dirty, and if it's not sealed. Use contact cleaner which you should be able to get at RadioShack. As far as opening it goes, just undo all the screws and go slow. But really, I would see about sending it back for warranty work if possible.
