You can get a 5s 5000mah 30-40c lipo for about $100 there. Occasionally you might get a weak or dead cell in a pack, but if you're only bashing then you could pickup 2 or 3 packs for the price of some 'branded' pack, and get the same or better performance..
The glitchbuster/ voltage protector cap doesnt give you extra power, it merely smooths out the power delivery and helps to prevent it bottoming out when the servo is really workign hard or the main pack voltage is sagging under acceleration- its an electrical buffer tank in essence. It wont neccesarily help in this instance because the input voltage is so low- if you have that motor geared for any kind of speed it will suck the life out of the lipo due to the high load and low overall power in the system ( power > watts = volts x amps- low voltage means high current draw, and that means higher temps and voltage droop )...
