Hobbyking flagged by Paypal as High Risk? - 02.21.2011, 09:10 PM

Went to do a small order with HK and payment was rejected, Paypal saying that Hobbyking has been flagged as a "high risk" site.

Given their customer service and shipping times post Chinese New Year it's hardly surprising, but has anyone else actually encountered this? Must cost them a LOT of business.

Probably too many people don't want to send their returns back to china... easier to file a paypal claim than to pay shipping.

weird, I placed an order a week and a half ago or so.
Sad stuff...Now I gotta pay the extra like 1.5% for credit card and what not.
Maybe it was just a fluke for you?

Wonder if there's a difference between an overseas purchase and one from the USA warehouse?

I PayPal'd my last order from the USA store and didn't have a warning...

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

A couple of years back when I first got back into RC racing HK and places like them were the only source of affordable lipo's but thankfully that has changed, one can now buy good race packs here in the US at reasonable prices from Company's like Team Scream. I just bought two 2s 5000mAh 50/100c hard case packs for $100.00 shipped. That might sound high to some but just a year ago one pack with those numbers would cost over $150.00. So no more HK for me! I'm not saying that I won't do business with Hong Kong based companies, just not known ripoffs with less than a stellar track record for CC. I buy allot of the parts for my Xray T3 from a small hobby shop in Hong Kong and save about 30% and anything that can be stuffed into a large mailing envelope ship's to the US for $2.00.
