Chilli sauce - 08.21.2010, 06:02 AM

I'm a chilli sauce addict & I'm looking for an off the shelf fix

Forget Tabasco, Crystal etc that stuff's like water & Australia has such limited local product I'm using the ABC Extra Hot (Chilli & Garlic) which isn't too bad but I know I'm missing out

Help me out with some suggestions, what's the best in hot and flavoured chilli sauce from the US/Canada?

Regardless of your opinions, its awesome to see my local brands, Tabasco and Crystal, being mentioned by an Australian!

Crystal makes good pizza sauce. 50/50 with tomato

I think I'll order a few from hotsauce.com & use the testimonials as my guide

Pinkpanda3310, I'm hopefully getting a bhut-jolokia plant later this year. I might need a few bravery pills for that one though. At least the possums won't eat them!!

Cholula has the best flavor! Love it mixed with ranch dressing.

And this is a real American made sauce that has loads of garlic flavor. JUST CHILI - CALIFORNIA HOT SAUCE!

Google em. They are shipped all over too.

cholula is not a hot sauce. it is a colored vinegar (as any tabasco is :) )

I was on a Tabasco boycot for about 5yrs because it did just seem like colored and flavored vinegar, then one day i had a craving for it on my biscuits and cravy, eggs and hashbrowns.......most excellent. Now for most mexican foods, and chilli etc I use Tapatio, it has a really good flavor that never gets old. And it is SUPER CHEAP!

Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff.

I was given some Rufus Teague - Blazin' Hot sauce the other day...

I'm not normally a fan of smoke flavoured sauces but this one isn't bad, nice bite to it also
