Hyperion vs iCharger - 03.12.2012, 12:54 PM

Hi everybody. I'm thinking about a quality charger. I know both are good, but speaking intelligence wise,
which one has a more precise balancer and is gentler with lipos?

I'm ready to hear your opinion and experience

I personally have heard people are getting tighter cell voltage tolerances with Hyperion.
Don't know about lipo cycle life though...

I swear by Hyperion. I love their charger, it balances everything perfectly and it is easy to use.

I suggest you consider the Cellpro Powerlab 8, since you mention the Hyperion.

Why? I don't need such a powerful charger.

You said you wanted a quality charger. Snellemin suggested the highest quality charger available.

Any of the 3 chargers mentioned in this thread will be adequately accurate, and none are rougher or gentler on lipos than the other.

Look at the watts! - 03.12.2012, 10:11 PM

I switched to i-chargers a couple years ago, at the time they had the highest watt output per dollar. They are great chargers. The higher end (and newer) models have closer balancing tolerance.

Bottom line; always check the watts of the chargers you are comparing... a lot of cells and a lot of amps do no good if the watts are low.

I still like my old hyperion.

Like Paralyzed mentioned it's your settings on any charger that determine how brutal the cycles are.

Could you elaborate please? Is it just Amps or other settings? I have never had and good expensive charger (only like GT power and s**t).

Yeah, You can chose the charge rate(amps) and even max cell voltage in some cases.

I use Hyperion chargers myself, along with Hyperion Lipos. They are fairly priced with high quality you can count on. I am sure there are other nice chargers as well, but I have no reason to switch(and I am a reseller for Hyperion already).
