Question Rc Monster Electric Conversion - 09.10.2012, 02:49 PM

Hey. Figured hear with you who knows on what's up.
Should convert one baja 5b.
Bought Rc Monster Electric Conversion Kit - HPI Baja 5B and a new ss.
Should run with Castle motor / esc.
Will buy as large lipo as it can fit so I get long runtime.
What contacts should I use, Traxxas TRX, 8mm bullet or what do you recommend.
I think i go for 8 cells lipo(2x4 cells)
Is there anything else I should consider before I start to build?
Thanks

You may need to customize the brace above the battery box as it interferes with the batteries.

I ran it like that with no issues. Mikes conversion stiffens up the rear a lot.

The castle brace also works if you could get one.

Hey Painter, I just realized that you are over here at rc-monster as well as on the baja forums.

This site is where I'm usually at, I call it my "home" for online r/c.

I can't wait to see your 5b run. Get ready to go through tires quickly!

Hope castle come soon

Ok now the esc and motor come soon.
Sitt and thought about how to connect everything.
Should run with hpi org brake and CC Probec.
How do I pair the receiver?
CC bec in the B / C, steering servo in 1.
But where do I connect esc and brake servo?
Should I put it in No. 2 with a split?
I have a Futaba 3 PM 2,4G.
Thanks.

Get the hitec 1/4 servo and a castle bec pro please

No need for a brake servo IMO...

Want to avoid the heat generated from braking force.
Then go esc and motor cooler.
And I'll run with CC Probec, Savöx 7.4 steering servo.
Do you not think its a good ide?

It's fine if you want to run mechanical brakes, it just isn't necessary. The esc will not overheat or overload if you use standard esc braking. It's just more simple not to use a splitter + servo + brake.

You are right, just plug a splitter into slot 2 and plug the esc + brake servo into the splitter.

Its not needed the ESC and motor are not stressed under 60mph...

It just adds extra complexity - Unless you go fancy on brakes they are likely to overheat themselves.

Personally I direct wire the servo to the BEC and have the ESC power the RX. I makes it easier for connecting to the castle link.
