Quark 125B -
07.05.2006, 12:51 PM
Would this be bad to run with my 10xl? I want to start upgarding for some lipo's. i know the controller can handle a lot, but i'm asking because if i'm not putting that much thru it, will it hurt it? 16 cell ib's is there such a thing as running tooo low of amps to a controller?
Thanks guys!

Nope, basically the less amps you run through it the better because there will be less heat, ect. The 125 is as good as it gets. That, with the 10XL would be great on 6S lipo.

It won't hurt,it's kinder to the controller, volts is at it's limit though but that's ok.
I'd maybe take the MGM though, the LVC is manual set for cell count instead of auto detect like the Quark. So you know for sure you can plug in at any time and not have it detect too low a count and screw your lipos. Some of them like the lisaver frequently get it wrong. The one i've got detects a fully charged 3s as a 4s 'till you run it a few mins then unplug/plug back in.Does the same for 8,reads it as 9.

The 24120 but there kinda pricey. Yea, I saw your body. Looks good, but what kinda is it? Looks like CP 2.0 but for what?

The 16160 would work.
I'm not sure which would be best, the MGM's have a few little software niggles,my 24160 has this thing where if you're freewheeling and blip the throttle it brakes hard for a split second.basically it tries to bring the motor speed down to the speed it would be at the low throttle input.Setting the range of neutral zone high solves it but leaves deadband on the throttle.a one-way bearing solves it obviously.it has nothing to do with the drag brake or freewheel, they're both off and they're unuseable settings anyway(they brake hard when you lift off).
otherwise it's a good and reliable esc with excellent lvc,i like mine alot but i use it with a one-way and mechanical brakes.
Up to you.

Only thing though, is that the 16060 won't work for 6S LiPo.

Got it. I may go with quark, the less probs the better, i'm not the high tech yet! LOL. thanks guys. I may also get a new motor. i like my 10xl, but would like a little more rpms, any suggestions?
Squee: the body is a jammin CRT, fits good on the extended, had to mod the rear body mount though.

oh yeah:005: ,actually i was just thinking 16 cells.
well, all things considered i'd probably go with the quark, but just be aware when using an auto detect lvc. unless it shows how many cells it's detected when you plug in? if it does that it would be ideal.

That's cool. I'm running the 16's for awhile, but my thinking...piece by piece! LOL, budget is getting thinner and thinner! I'll start with the controller, then charger, balancer, then lipo's...Oh, new motor!

If you plan on going 6S LiPo soon, then I would stick with the 10XL. It's perfect for 6S but if your wanting something in the meantime for 16 cells, I would go for a 9XL or so.

A lehner motor is not a bad idea. Just have to get the right turn for you.
Peace!
