low performance - 07.12.2006, 05:03 PM

i'm getting low performance from my g2r. the throttle on my dx3 feels really spongy and there is barely any difference in speed between 1/2 throttle and 7/8 throttle. seems like this would be the controller's fault. i'm running a bk 12020. i read about someone else with the same controller and the same issue. i tried reprogramming it, but ended up with the same result. any thoughts? btw, i'm using a 1950/8t with 6s lipo. thanks, tally.

Are your batteries working good, BTW?

i just sent one off to be fixed and bought a replacement. the other should be fine. i'm balancing them right now. i do have a thread on the balancer that mike sold me. the directions don't go into much detail, so i'm a little worried on that part.

Ciao Tallyram,
does your controller smell bad ?
Maybe it's just working on a few mosfets then when new.
All this if your batteries are not the iussue.

Ciao,
Daniele

This sounds like a problem with the esc. Check to see if any of your caps are popped.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I had the same problem. The 12020 also seemed to have no mid-throttle when I bumped it to corner. Hooked up my 9920, smooth as ever. I tried everything, adjusting my EPA, resoldering my wires, reprogramming, UBEC and receiver pack, nothing worked. I am sending it back to Mike and hopefully it will be fixed.

FYI, if the esc is not working properly, i wouldn't suggest to keep running it. More problems can occur doing this. A small problem is easier to find and fix then many!
