Just got a nemesis xlt motor for my lst along with my Mamba max. - 10.12.2006, 02:29 PM

Hi,
I just got my motor for my lst and I was wondering if I needed anything else to run it. I disabled the bec on the mamba max esc and I was going to run a receiver pack. Do I need anything else?

Just make sure you pull the red wire on the plug that goes to the RX. Other than that....

That will be the biggest truck I have heard of on the MM controller. I'm interested to hear how the MM handles it. What batteries are you going to run?

The only one I've seen carry that motor is F.D. (you know who.)

What are the specs for that motor? (ie kv, etc) That's a big truck for the MMax, will be interesting to see hwo it does. Keep us posted.

What gearing do you intend to run? Watching temps will be vital.

Definately let us know how it runs. A friend of mine has an MGT of a similar weight to an LST and if a Mamba would run in that his gonna be happy.

A fan over the esc would be a good idea btw, it dropped the temps on mine by approx 30F.

Fan dropped the temps on my 9920 from 165*F to 95*F-100*F. Fans are a really good idea.

Yea, FD sells the XLT motors. If I'm not mistaken, thats some of his (you know who) BS. I have heard that there nothing but a Nemesis that he relabled....Cemetarygates called you know who and asked a few questions, like kv, etc, and you know who said some BS about how he has been in business long enough to know better than to tell that stuff...

So if he won't tell you what the motor kv is, how do you know what voltage and gearing to use? Thats retarded!!!!:p

Edit: I guess that means he want to sell to all the noobs with no clue what they are doing. I bought my first BL system from him back when I had no clue, I just wanted ''brushless''. He sent me the wrong motor and then told me he was out of the motor I ordered and that the motor he sent was an upgrade. It technically was a more expensive motor, but it was the wrong kv for my application. He just sent whatever he had laying around that wasn't selling for him. I just didn't know any better so he got the best of me. I would never go back.

Anyway, that kind of attitude will catch up to him in the long run. Here I am 5 BL systems later and he didn't get a penny of the business.:D

Thats why I shop w/ Mike now. He makes sure you get what you need. Not just what he happens to have!

Sorry... Rant over...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I was looking at thier LST that was "featured" recently. It also said on 4s that the motor and 9920 were too hot to touch after just one pack.. :031: Way too hot IMO.
I would bet its a 7XL or so. I'm sure he would just set it up to get the highest #'s and not worry about reliability. His work is shoddy and lame IMO.

But if you got the motor cheap, congrats. I hope it works, but you may be looking at a really hot setup. You're going to have to be real careful until you figure the whole thing out. You're really going to test the MM...
