G2R needs motor, esc and batteries

Choices choices...

I am almost ready for motor, esc and battery selection.

I am now thinking of a Mamba max and 8XL. As I previously mentioned, I would like moderately longer run-times (least 30-40 mins minimum- nuclear power for 2 year runtime would be good haha). I think Maxamps Lipos are in order. Im going to be running on a mix of short grass, hard dirt and streets - NOT racing but I like speed like everyone else.

I will enjoy running the G2R but will not be beating it without mercy like my tmaxx. Im into nitro but want something that I can just plug and play and cruise around.

So remaining questions I have are...

(1) will the Mamba Max and 8XL run good?

(2) Which Maxamps Lipo packs should I go with?

(3) What connectors are the best?

(4) What's the best charger? ICE or MRC 989?

(5) What else do I need besides the truck and transmitter (besides a new fiance')?

It may not look like it but I have been doing my research -- there is just so much information out there. Ill post pics of the truck asap.

(2) Which Maxamps Lipo packs should I go with? 2 x 2s 8000mah packs seems to be a popular chioce for bashing and racing. Good run time without going over the top in weight.

(3) What connectors are the best? Deans IMO. Powerpole are also good.

(4) What's the best charger? ICE or MRC 989? Both are good chargers, but the 989 has more capability IMO and comes with a powersupply. Great bang for the buck.

(5) What else do I need besides the truck and transmitter (besides a new fiance')? A second job to pay for all of this FUN!!!:005:

Only sugestion I have is buy yourself a nice 180oz+ servo and the proline single steering arm and the stiff servo saver spring and convert to a single servo. You get rid of the weight and make room to mount your reciever. Aside from the performance gains of less weight and a more responsive steering than the stock servos, once you start installing and wiring all of the stuff on these G2R's you run out of real estate very quickly. That 2nd servo position being empty comes in very handy.

Looks like once you get your power system in place you will have a sweet ride.

Nice job! Looks very similar to my old G2R.
