motor mounting suggestions - 04.02.2007, 05:14 PM

I want to make my revo brushless and I would like your opinions on how to mount the motor. Do you suggest the e-maxx tranny set-up like Dafni uses or the motor mount that mike is now selling?

i like the rc monster mount myself, the tranny is already there, quick and easy, i think you could also do the new revo slipperentual , just widen the hole like you would with the emaxx tranny

I wonder if there would be any issues with the motor wires being too close to the rear suspension

I like using the stock tranny personally. Pretty much all LHSs carry Traxxas parts so it's easy and fast to get a part. You do have to lock second gear though, but that's easy. I guess it depends on if a solid CD is important as the Traxxas CD is kinda weak compared to the slipperential.

I seem to remeber reading somewhere a while back that a guy made a mount to use with the stock tranny and he had issues with the can being too long and hitting the rear suspension when it would compress.

Yup, the stock Revo tranny and slipper works fine. And the gears are Mod1 too. I'm using an XL motor on mine and the suspension has never hit the wires, but I do support them. I have a couple of pipctures in my sig (the "My BL Conversions" link).
