B-maxx finally finished...pics! - 04.26.2007, 04:19 PM

Hey guys,

I'm running a finned can 7XL, Quark 125 w/internal mod, 5s2p A123 pack. Gearing is 51T/Strobe, 18T pinion (smallest that will fit on 540C can)

This thing goes like MAD, I get a little too finger happy at times and it wants to just flip it over at any speed, even on gravel road. Oh, and i couldn't fit my big@SS heatsink on the truck right now. :002:

I am getting about 15-20 mins runtime with these A123's. I can't tell a difference in power between freshly charged and 95% discharge, it's that abrupt! I'll post some Eagletree of a good run, I have 135 amp peaks.

Link HERE

BTW, STAY AWAY FROM INTEGY BULKHEADS, THEY ARE GARBAGE... NO THEY ARE DIRT!

Forgot to mention:

7XL: 60C (140F)
Batts: 32C (90F)

the last pic of you about to throw the integy into the garbage is priceless. :005:

so you're running the m1 cells without taps? i'm debating on whether to balance them or not.

Pssshh, I don't bother anymore. I used to, but I never had to do anything, they never went out of balance!

That's my favorite pic too! :005: Honestly, garbage, all I did was flip the truck over from standstill! :031:

well, i guess we all knew about integy.. :p

Some parts of them are pretty nice though. but bulks are poop.

did your tires came with molded foams? if yes; where did you got them from?

the RPM upper arms have got a notch to go on the inside for 3.3 arms. You've got a few mounted good, and another is on 'wrong' well wrong....

Now get some FLM bulks.. :)

Integy, never again...

I didn't put the upper arms the right way cuz i liked the look of it on top. But you don't have to do it with CVD's I thought? Just for sliders?

The tires just had the foams that came with them. They balloon pretty good, enough to make it unstable somewhat. I mounted my RD Logic spikes from Mike and they are MUCH better, they don't balloon at speed, only hard acceleration on loose surface.

Yes, Integy stuff..... sucks. It looks nice, but I would only use it in places that arent likely to suffer in a crash/flip/roll. What are you going to replace them with? Looking at that graph Im amazed- I expect a graph of my batts would look like a rainbow..... impressive truck that you got there.

yeah, thanks, I'm pretty happy with it. I'll prabably get some FLM bulks, or I might just take her easy and wait a bit and get some hybrid bulks w/buggy gears.:027:

If you are wondering about the batt graph, that was just a bench test with a constant discharge from two large 820 motors. The voltage is way off, by like 1.5 volts. I still can't figure it out.

I'll go do a run as soon as I can with the Eagletree in it, until battery dumps.

K, I did a run, but it was cut short. I don't have a good servo saver yet, and I did a high speed cartwheel and broke the servo arm off.

Anyways, it's the last two pics/screenshots of Eagletree titled Short B-Maxx run... This was ran on hard packed gravel, with loose layer of sand/stones/etc.

HERE

I had to sign up to tell you that is one well done Maxx. That is the direction I've been headed, and you just sealed the deal on the FLM chassis for me. Clean job, not too much heavy bling. I'm brushless ready with all the driveline upgrades, and hope to have my truck looking as clean as that. Well done.

Thanks man! I'm honored that you registered just for me! :027: Welcome to the forums!

I'm pretty happy with it, over time I will upgrade to cream of the crop parts for strength. My next upgrade, AND soon, is a new radio. I only have about 100 feet range, and even then it glitches alot.

It's not as clean as i would like, as this is the only setup I can do, because of the batteries are too bulky, they barely fit in width wise, and length wise.

Thanks ***RC*** !

It's great to hear that the 5s2p A123 setup is working great for you :).

In my Revo, I get spikes upwards of 120amps (MicroPower won't display anything higher) with the 540C 7XL, and that's with a 100,000wt. filled center diff.

120 amps? How come my Micropower is logging 135 amps? Would mine be a newer version? Mine is also acting funny.

My truck is 10 pounds fully loaded.

luvsrc, i have to be honest, you have one of the nicest Revo's going, especially with that Neu is there ;)

I thought my 7XL was going to run hotter than what it is, maybe the current temps (19C) and the finned can is helping, in reference to smooth can Fiegao's. It sure is sick for power though! I can speed along at 30mph and gun it on gravel, it will easily wheelie at speed. I LOVE IT! :027:

I have one of the first MicroPowers produced. Yours is V2, right? That would explain why mine won't show anything above 120amps.
