hi, everyone

first off i want to say thanx for all the information you guys and gals have provided i have learned so much!.!.!.

-Feigao 540C 9XL
-mamba maxx esc
-MaxAmps Lipoly 6000mah 2S2P 7.4V Pack

-also do i need 2 packs of these batteries?
-and if u have any suggestions on a better setup that is not crazy expensive
such as a diffrent motor let me know

-and finally if this setup was to work what speeds/runtime would i expect??

The motor and ESC will work together quite nicely. The batteries, however, might not be the best choice. Some people here have found that they don't live up to their ratings. Personally I've had good luck with the Maxamps 5000HV cells.

With the right gearing, you could expect 40mph for normal driving. Runtime depends a lot on what you're doing (some people might get 1/2 hour bashing, and only 12 minutes racing, for example). If you went with the 5000mah pack, I think 20mins would be something to expect.

ok thanks but after doing some more reading i think the 8xl motor would be a better choice (let me know if not) ???

40 mph sounds great for bashing but the runtimes are a little low in my opinion unless this is what i should expect??

i was aiming for 30-40 min, of runtime. if this is even possible please let me know and tell me wut i would have to do for the runtimes to be around this(battery size ect.. ??

sry i have so many questions but can my motor or esc (idk which) handle
22.2v or only 14.8 (for battery purposes)

my ideal setup so far
-Castle Creations Mamba Max ESC
-Feigao brushless motor 540 8xl
-Maxamps 8000 mah 3s Lipo pack (or) MaxAmps Lipoly 8000mah 2S2P 7.4V Pack
-stock chassis modification
-e-maxx tranny
-External BEC/UBEC
-Sky-Holic Li-Poly Balancer Guard (is this the balancer i would need)??

please let me know if this is everything i will need and i would also like suggestions on a cheap but decent radio system

thanks

The Mamba Max ESC can comfortably handle 4s Lipo (14.8v), and some have had luck with 5s Lipo. 6s Lipo would be too much.

The 8XL on 4s Lipo would be fine. If you wanted to run 6s, the 9XL or 10XL would be a better choice.

For 30-40mins., 8000mah is a minimum IMO.

For a cheap/decent radio system, I use a MX3-S. I got mine brand new for $96 since it was on sale and my employee discount was thrown on top of that. You can get regular (non-synthesized) MX3 radios for about $105.

Thread jack, nobody move!

So a MambaMax & wanderer/feigio etc 8xl on 14.4v-ish would be a good setup? I am wanting to nail down a nice setup for when I have the money to get a better BL system. Given my truck weighs 11.5lbs with batts, and I dont want to spend out on Lipo or make some custom 8cell packs, would that combo of motor & esc get my lump of a truck shifting at a nice pace, or would better speedo be needed, or just some additional cooling (I have plenty of fans to bolt on if needed)?

EDIT: what is up with this cogging issue I read about when MM speedos are mentioned, should I be concerned?
