9xl mm revo and lipo temps and ?s - 11.04.2007, 04:29 PM

so i ran the revo today and had a hard time charging even after the packs were balanced, had to charge at 1.5 amps, kept unbalanceing(?), any way i dont run extreme settings and i know that as pack v drops it will slow down , but this thing is slow, try to upload video later, bashed like 10 min., oh and it will only do wheelies after i stop and let the caps recharge(?), not very punchy even though i have the punch control dis. , start power is low and the timing is normal

here are the temps:

battery 1(old and 14g wire) 105*f and finished @ 7.38v

battery 2 (maxamps replaced so newer and 12g wire) 85*f @ 7.45v

esc. 85*f

motor 110*f

so i know that this motor is better suited for 5s but i dont want to blow up my mm, and i dont know how to tell if my battery is bad, i have been charging and balancing both packs at once to save time , i even tried the 9l and it was slow to??

any thoughts or suggestions would be great

I'm a little confused, you running 2 packs at once? 2 2S packs in series? Maybe your old battery is not performing at its best, causing the bad results.
I run my Revo on 4S with a 9XL and get lots of power. You said it's not punchy, what are you geared? Is your top speed ok?

Running two batteries like that will cause problems...Might wanna get another one to go with your new pack.

oh, no!

well i will see what i can do

its geared 20/58, emaxx trans locked in 2nd, i can get other jato spurs at the lhs(56,54) but it is probably the battery, i have not had much success with this truck since i had the battery replaced, so i will look into getting another one

i can basiclly hold it w/o all the time and not worry about it getting crazy, i will start uploading vids

I'm running an MM/9XL combo on 4s in my Revo. The emaxx tranny is locked in 2nd also. The only major difference is that I'm running 18/51 mod1 gearing.

Anyway, mine has all kinds of power with that set-up. It wheelies even when it's already going 15 mph or so.

Well, I definitely think it's your batteries. Get another good pack and test it out.

8XL shouldn't be too hot, but I think once you get your battery situated you'll be happy.

i think it must be the battery, but i will have to get a new one and see, i only have the 2 2s packs and one 3s pack so i will have get one, i dont want to try 5s , well thanks , what a bummer

also i noticed when i go to full throttle the lights on the mm are green/orange and the same time??? like neutral and full throttle at the same time, either my lvc is kickin in or i should try to reset it???
