Turnigy Sentilon 100A HV ESC -
02.08.2008, 11:15 PM
Howdy, I've got one of these on its way I was going to use in my revo conversion with 6s 4000mah pack and a Feigao 11XL with the RCM motor mount.
The only other report I've read of this esc was using the teknorc clutch. Has anyone tried it without one? I'm wondering how much cogging I should anticipate...

There's one in my MT2 with "direct-to-diff" outrunner setup. It's smooth for the most part, but if I'm not careful when running 10s A123, it will definitely cog (not surprising considering it's set up for 70+mph). But this isn't the same as using it with an inrunner... I think it should be fine pushing the 11XL without a nitro clutch.

I have this ESC and it smooth like butter :) if to be honest too smooth, have some stupid delay on start even 0,5s is too much, no punch at all. You can use it with pistol radio if you will calibrate throttle with pistol radio.

It's an airplane ESC, so it will have airplane brakes.

i just connected mine up and can't get it to work at all. i got a couple of beeps at first, but now i can't get anything anywhere. i can't enter setup or nothing. i removed the red esc wire, put it back on, checked all connections, pluged a servo in the reciever port and it works fine. i don't know if i got a bad esc, or if i'm missing something. i ordered a program card for it, so i may have to just wait, but i'm thinking i have a bad esc.

Mine was a bit unco to start, but seemed to work fine. I have the main battery plugged into the esc, then, holding the trigger at full throttle, plug in the rx battery (or flick the switch or whatever). It'll do a little jingle then beep twice. Then relax to neutral (i kept going to brake in this step.. took me a while to figure out what i was doing wrong lol) and it will emit one long beep meaning its ready to go.

1. Switch on transmitter, move throttle stick to top (on trigger transmitter press full trottle)
2. Connect battery pack to ESC, and wait for about 2 seconds
3.“Beep-beep-” tone should be emitted, means throttle range highest point has been correctly confirmed
4. Move throttle stick to the bottom, several “beep-” tones should be emitted, presenting the quantity of battery cells (on trigger transmitter release trottle (dont press brake- just in middle position))
5. A long “Beep-” tone should be emitted, means throttle range lowest point has been correctly confirmed

thanks, I follow tom255 instructions and it works, but...
I have a problem or I don't understand the "brake"
I have the programming card, and the first parameter is the brake, I want to be able to brake with the motor, then I set ON the brake in the programing card, then i calibrate the radio:
**********************
*********************
If I do this, and set the brake on, when I release the trigger in neutral, it brake the motor, is this brake parameter the "drag brake"?
I tried to calibrate doing the same but instead of leaving in neutral after the 2 beeps, I put it in full brake, but it does the same.
Conclusion... is this esc forward only with "drag brake"? I have to use mecanical brakes? or is posible to configure it to use the motor brake when y brake with the radio ( not when I leave it in neutral).
other question. has someone use the "governor mode" parameter on? I don't know what is the "governor mode" used for.
Thanks.

forget my post. my motor is dead. it worked when i first got it, but now its dead. everything works with another motor, but this motor won't work on any of my esc's, which it did when i started the build.

Thats a bummer. Sounds like a shorted phase or something for the motor to just be dead like that.... does the shaft spin freely/evenly?...

yeah, its actually extremely smooth. i noticed when i first hooked it up, it didn't seem to spin very fast, but i just thought my batts where low. that explains why i got some beeps at first, then nothing. i have another kb45xl i've been running in my emaxx, so i guess i can use this one for parts. my old one could probably use some fresh bearings anyway.
