lipo question - 02.21.2008, 12:58 PM

My TrueRC 5s 8000 mah pack just arrived, my hyperion is not here yet.

The battery has 19v on it under no load. would it be safe to run it once up and back in the parking lot just to see the power difference? or do I have to wait for the charger?

19v > 3v/cell which leads me to think 2 mins of run would be ok, but this is my 1st big lipo and I don't want to kill it out of impatience.

thx,

DT

As long as you have a speed control with a correctly set LVC you will not have an issue. You can run a lipo at any charge as they do not have a memory issue like nimh cells. You will notice a big difference when you charge the lipo, 21v is full charge on a 5s.
