I wouldn't do it. I have one and it runs fantistic on 3S.

8012= 80amps, 12 cells, so it's rated at 14.4 volts, and 5s is 18.5, hum!!!! not sure about that. But it's like the MM who's rate for 3s and every body here run it on 4s, and 5s occasionaly. So maybe with an external BEC, this controller can work on 5s.

well, its rated for 4s, so i guess ill just stick with 4s to get a little bit lighter....
