Video of Traxxas V Brushless - 06.04.2007, 11:40 PM

RC Car Action Magazine has posted some videos from their testing of the new Traxxas Brushless VXL Bandit, Rustler and Stampede. Theyr are reviewing for the August issue wich will go on sale in the next couple weeks.

They look like they have some kick to them. Wonder what voltage they are running in the videos.

Ah, they looked alright, but my son's toned down MGT rips better than those. LOL

Really, my hat's off to traxxas. They've taken brushless into the mainstream. From a performance standpoint, I don't think that many here will be impressed, since we've seen and already have things that will far outperform what Traxxas is offering but....

This may be the proverbial "foot in the door" that we have been waiting for and could lead to wider acceptance of brushless in general and more importantly, lithium polymer batteries and the like. I have to admit that my interest has been sparked and if I have some disposable money laying around, I might just pick up a Rustler just to see how far the system can be pushed. If I blow something up, I'll just throw a MM into it.

Nice find. I'll definitely be waiting for this issue. Wonder what their thoughts on it will be...

I'm thinking to do the same thing AAngel.

Just noticed in some of the shots in the bandit video it looks like they have wheelie bars like the T-Maxx 3.3. Another cool new accessory.

i'm thinking about buying a rustler, only to ebay the BL setup, and put my neu in.. rustler's have always been fun for me. I'm guessing it's just from that video, but that doesn't seem any more powerful than a lehner basic setup. we don't know cell count either though..

I would imagine that they were running 3S lipo with stock gearing, but who knows.

Which neu do you have with a 8th inch shaft?

They look like they've got some decent poke to them. We don't know what battery setup they were running and how heavy the drivers were being on the throttle, so I wouldn't compare power just yet...but they were pretty quick nonetheless.

I'm getting the Transmission internals of the VXL for my FLM tranny case. Traxxas has improved those too.

haha, I'm not planning anything just yet.. just have the urge to.. no money at the moment. I'm not even sure which pitch the rustler has.. 48? I thought it was 32? mike's got 5mm 32p gears in the store, if that's the case. if not, I'm sure you could mod another spur to it.

I believe there 48p, but the Jato Mod .8 (32p) and the Revo Mod 1 will fit no problems since they use the same slipper.

Also, they appear to have alot of power actually. I would think that was on 2S since that will be what most will run, aside from the normal 6 or 7 cells. Just keep in mind there 2wd with wheelie bars in dirt. There probably spinning those tires 90% of the time.

Yep, they should be 48P spurs. 5mm 32P pinions shouldn't be too hard to find if you do throw a Neu in there.
