Mamba Max - 03.17.2008, 11:33 AM

Yo!!

I want to get a new esc for my MRX-4X conversion.

The Tekin Pro controller might not be my choice since the interface system is not out yet( I want to program the LVC for 4-5s applications).

The Mamba Max seems my choice this time again.

I want to know if the new version is still capable of handling 4-5s lipos, because I read that it does not.

Well.....is it true?

Thanks,

Alawi El-Jifri :)

The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!

IMO No - I have new ones they are fine for 4s with UBEC in eREVO and eX1CR.

I have run briefly at over 20v - 6s a123 but this is not my normal setup.

The Tekin handles 5s like a champ with the use of a 35V 1000mfd low ESR capacitor to replace the stock 25v capacitor. I ran all day on Saturday with the R1Pro in my XB8 on 5s and never saw a glitch. Super smooth throttle controll on the Tekin. Dare I say even smoother feeling than the Quark.

But yea... the lack of the hotwire usb device really is annoying. I am running the external LVC for the time being.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Someone on the noob forum has a new MM that will run on 5s- it seems pot-luck as to whether you will get a one that will work on over 4s or not....
