hi guys.i was running my cen arena truggy with MMM 4s 9xl 47/14 gearing with no temp problems, was so happy with that i needed to get a neu 1515.the only one i could find was a used 1515 1y on ebay so i did get it.with the heat here in socal(97d) i couldnt stop myself from testing it yesterday.very satisfied with speed/power.ran it for 8-10 mins.the checked temps 115batts,140MMM,187neu!!my 9xl never got that high!do i have to gear the 1y differently?or did i get a bum motor?
but factors are i was so amazed with the neu power that i was going full throtle a lot on grass n dirt(baseball field),donuts and everything, never ran the 9xl with these outside temps.

any opinions would be greatly appreciated.thanks
it could be the outside temps here in Phoenix we are getting temps pushing 115 during the day and during the summer I will only run my Revo early in the morning...at that time it is already pushing 90 degs...because your ESC and batts temps were a little elevated...try running yout truggie when its cooler out and see if there is a difference
Try a 13T pinion. The Neu 1515/1Y has a Kv of 2200 and the 9XL is at 1660 or so. You could also try different timing on the MMM. A 2 pole Feigao likes the low timing or 0 degrees in other controllers. Go with normal and see if that helps.
One rule that I try to use depending on motor of course is if I go with a higher Kv, I will always go with a smaller pinion to match the speed and keeping AMP draws about the same. If you are really into speeds over 50mph then it's a different story.
