To all Teens and 20+'s on this site... (IMPORTANT!) -

DO NOT SPEED OR RACE OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT!
I just got home from the hospital last night. God was watching over me. I decided to race my friend in the subdivision at night back to my house (obviously the stupidest thing one could ever do). I didn't account for slippery conditions however, and lost control of the vehicle at around 60 or 70 down a hill and smashed into a tree. The car became a banana and the passenger seat hit me in the face.
The cop didn't believe I lived. I only have a broken shoulder blade and a bruised right face.
I was luckier than anything on earth, so PLEASE drive safely.

Good advice. If you feel the need to race, take it to the track!!

As an avid autocrosser, I too promote the “take it to the track” attitude. We have a huge underground street-racing problem in my area and the local motorsports community is strongly trying to encourage all the legal and safe(er) alternatives available.
Glad to hear you’re alright, nobody else was hurt, and have a new view of street-racing.
PS: What’s the status of that sweet ass Supra?

Glad you came out ok, but too bad about the car.
One question though: why is this directed to just teens and people in their 20's? People 30+ don't matter?

Nasty... that poor tree!
At least you lived to tell the tale and warn others, and came away relatively un-scathed.

Yeah, and when all of you young kids are out driving like idiots, watch out for the people on bicycles, it hurts when you run over us.
Glad to hear that you are ok dude, time for a new ride?
I see bad accidents all the time, and seatbelt usage is the best thing you can do to protect yourself. Airbags are a waste of time, and can actually burn people really badlly. Best thing to do is drive safely, and leave the sillyness to when you run an rc! And don't drive drunk, stoned, or high!

Good to hear you're safe, and glad that you learned this important lesson without harming anyone else.
I lost a buddy of mine last year to a drunk driver. He was riding his motorcycle when a drunk idiot t-boned him in an intersection. That guy is currently in prison for man slaughter. Don't waste your life like that looser did... or worse, take away another's life that actually means something to somebody.
There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

No, my parents are smarter than that! I don't have a supra It was my bro's grand am. He's just glad I'm alive though.
Thanks for the support guys, and Brian, the reason for the age is that usually (usually) by 30 or so, you figure out what's really important and you boy racer leaves you.
Paralyzed, I your so right. I'm so sorry about your accident but commend your outlook on life. If I hadn't had my seatbelt i would have had a closed casket, end of story.

dan supra, that will haunt you for a while, will be hard to drive down that street without a flashback.... glad you are ok, glad you are not dealing with having taken someone else out in the process (passenger, pedestrian, motorist, cyclist, buddies car, ect...)
If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
