Phoenix 60 in a revo? - 03.30.2008, 03:48 PM

With my Mega motor, i need a better esc, my vxl just sucks... but its all i had to take the time untill i get a new one. I do use the mechanical revo brakes with my tekno kit so brakes and reverse arent issues. do you guys think that the Castle Creations Phoenix 60 ESC would do good in this truck(Revo). it is running a mega ACn22/30/1. it will be with both 3s and 4s, but the esc is rated for 6s so im not worried about voltage...

Get the Mamba if you are only going for 3S.

What about the Sidewinder? It should handle the Mega.

It must have around 70A or so to drive the 4600Kv with 3S.

Dude, couch up the money and buy a mm.

If you run 4s with anything you will need a bec.

Tower has a 15 off coupon that ends monday, so you would only have 120 in the mm plus shipping.

Scratch that, check this out, 115 with free shipping, can't beat that!

No prob, plus a phoenix 60 will not handle a 3s motor in a revo, too many amps for it to take.

Rated qmp draw on motors is usually based on prop data. We use tires, and they can load a motor alot more, especially a full throttle during a standstill. The MM is car designed and does the job well. Plus 4s in a revo can pull 2hp sometimes, so 1hp=746watts. x2 is around 1500 watts. watts = voltsxamps, so 1500/14.8v=100amps or so. I usually buy my 4s packs with at least a 125amps cont. With 5s you can go down to 100amps cont.

We all know how well the mm works, plus it has reverse, so it is more versatile. I have even used one in a boat!
