looks great. I'd buy one if mike ever decided to put it into production. I'm using an old servo tray from my crt.5 to extend my top plate like that. But that looks a lot cleaner, and I'm all about clean installs.
My only suggestion would be to change the esc mount design so no one confuses it with dan's product (and not step on anyone's fragile sensibilities as well). Maybe mill "RCM" on the esc plate? Or if mike really wanted to get fancy, mill in the rcm mascot on the plate. I think both would look great (the later option being incredibly work intensive though).
There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

Mine is different than Dan's - for starters, it is built to accept the factory mechanical brake setup - just like the motor mount itself. It also has 4 fan hole cutouts vs. Dan's 3, has threaded holes to attach a 30mm fan, and follows similar lines to the stock part it replaces(Dan's is an "x" pattern over the diff). I can't see Dan being too upset - after all, I was making the motor mounts long before he was. :)
By the way...it has RC-Monster engraved on it 2 times if you look close(over the diff). :)

Right on Mike. I did notice most of the differences and the rc-monster engraving. I didn't know about the mech brake feature though. Very nice.
So... when are the xray top plates coming out?

So is it going to be for sale on RC Monster, or was that just a one time deal? From some of the other work I have seen around here that is the nicest engineered one yet. Good job Mike.

If Mike made top plates for many of the buggies/truggies I"ll bet they would be a huge hit..
I am so impressed w/ mine, especially considering Mike made the holes for mech. brakes and the fan w/ out any direction from me..

I would love to buy one of those for my MBX-5.
I just cut one out of an old E-Maxx center skid I had laying around. I doesn't look nearly as nice as that one.
Please let me know if I can get one Mike.

If I lived anywhere near Mike, I would probably be broke.
Nice work as usual. Mike's stuff always looks very clean and professional.

No kidding... that's why I found it amusing that guys were talking about RCPD getting patents on his products!
This was my initial reaction to that idea: then:
Shouldn't even consider putting a patent on something you didn't do first, whether it's legal or not.
To give them some credit, I think they had in mind mostly the machined battery tray/mudguard. But still...
