hyperion charger and neu energy lipo charging - 05.02.2008, 03:23 AM

they just arrived and now i need to make sure im doing the right things to charge these suckers up. my hyperion 0606i did not come with instructions but from reading all the threads, i think i know what the steps are but can you guys double check if im missing anything.

so first i plug in my 2s 5000 lipo to the balancer plug and also the deans plug from the charger. then i adjust the charger so that it reads 5000mah and then i adjust the number of cells which is 2s in my case and then i press start.
so will it balancer the battery automatically first and then charge right after? if you guys have this charger please let me know how to work this thing...im sure its very easy , but i really dont want to ruin my packs on a first time charge.

thank you guys very much

I think the 0606i may double check that you are charging right with lipo.

Set the battery type.
Set the mA/h
Set the voltage

Hold start
Double check

Charge lipo to your hearts desire.

set it to lipo, 2s, 5000, make sure you plug into the 2s balance tap (2,3,4 all the same size) click start, it balances and charges at the same time... well clicks back and forth automatically.... bet those Neus are sweet

only thing that confused me is when johnrob says to set the voltage. so what voltage do i set it at. i believe 7.4 but does my charger even allow me to set that?
wow the hyperion 0606i really does sound very easy to use hhaha. dang, so all i really gotta do is plug both the balancer and power plugs and set the info and then hold start and itll balance and charge at same time cool hahah

Visit the hyperion site for that charger and print the few pages that pass for a manual. It walks you through a charge setup and is worth printing to have as a refernce. There should have been a piece of paper with the charger that lists the web address.

I have that charger and it does a great job on my 5S a123 pacs and nimhs as well.

I think rclipos also has a link to the manual for the charger. Hyperion charger rocks!

I had probs with my hyperion telling me there was something wrong with the batt I was trying to charge. Turns out it was my prob - I wasn't connecting things in the right order. You connect the output leads to the charger (these stay plugged in), turn charger on, connect balance tap and then finally connect the battery and start charge sequence.

Once started doing it this way, no further probs.

thanks for everyones great input. i printed out the manaul for reference as well. but reading the steps by steps from you guys were actaully easier than understanding the manual haha.
oh so plug in the power to the charger first, turn on the charger, plug in the balance leads, plug in the charge leads (dean connectors in my case), adjust the 2s and 5000 mah, then hold start.

thanks guys i got it now. gonna make the first charge tomorrow morning
