Best Neu motor choice. - 05.14.2008, 09:52 PM

Hey guys, I am converting my Losi 8-T. I will be using it to race 20 minute mains. The track dose'nt have any long straights so top speed is not an issue, does have some short run-ups where I will need good punch. My plan was to run a Neu 1515 1/Y/F on 4S Polyquest and MMM. I have a 13 tooth pinion and a 16 tooth. I am ready for the motor, but have no idea when they will be available. Is this even the right choice or should I go with the NEU 1512 2.5/D/F? Or the 1515 2.5/D (it's in stock)? OR 1512 1/Y?

Thanks for any help with this, and if this has been covered before I'll apologize for not using the search function ahead of time.

if you are using 4s I would go with the 1515/1y and the extra torque you get with the 1515 over 1512 you could gear up, start with the 16 tooth pinion

You may also want to consider the 1515/2d which is 2050KV so its right between the 1515/2.5d and the 1515/1y.

Ok, thanks. 1515 1/Y is what I'll stick with. No big hurry anyway, want to take my time and get it right.

1515 1y on 4s should be good. If you have 5000mah or less you may have to go easy on the power to get 20 mins, but the small track may help. Start with the 13t pinion. I don't think you'll need any more top end than that if you don't have any big straights.
