anyone use maximizer beadlocks - 05.19.2008, 01:00 AM

I didnt know if many people still ran these anymore, my friend bryan just got a set for his emaxx and they really dont seem THAT much heavier than standard wheels and plus i was thinking how mice itd be to be able to tear a tire down in just minutes and beable to re-tape or change inserts or changes tires completely with out having to mess with CA and gluing my fingers together or worse to the tire .... just asking if anyone had any experieces running them with brushless power. He is trying to get me to get a set of them for my GS. i dunno if itd really matter much with the slight extra weight, running on 5s 5000 flightpower pack with a 10xl.

whats your guys opinions on the wheels?

I'm running bead locks but they are not Maximizes, they are Axial. I haven’t weighted them up, but I don’t think they are much heaver than stock wheels. They are holding up great (so far) and yes I’ve put them to the test on both my GR3 and G3 builds as well as my Duel V Twin 3905 E-Maxx. Here is the link to them.. http://www.axialracing.com/main_details.php?Id=3115

I’ve got Proline Bow-Tie in the front and Crime fighters in the rear (40 series).

Hope that helps??

Have a great one..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

I'm running them on my brushless savage but I didn't really get to test them in the 5 minutes my MMM lasted. I have been running them on my nitro savage for a long time and they work great on it.

Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

I have a set I got from a buddy. 1 run on the crime fighters and molded inserts, and i paid him 50 bucks for all 4 wheels, tires and inserts. They are a bit heavier than stock, and quite a bit heavier than the stock savage ss lightweight wheels and tires. Look to be good, just not sure what to use them on?

I have the 40 series proline bead locks and like them a lot. They hold up very well and i never have to worry about a tire flying off. They are a bit heavy with the tires on but they are 40 series so that is expected. The only draw back is they are not quick bolt up and go. It took me 2 hours to bolt up all 4 tires. 1/2 hour a wheel. The screws are also very cheap and strip easy so you have to put them in by hand. Even with the draw backs i still prefer bead locks over normal rims.

dang it only took me and bryan 30 minutes to do all 4 of his beadlocks, (put maxx mashers on them), all we used was a little T-handled hex driver.

The proline wheels have 36 screws for each wheel (18 per ring). A little excessive but i know a tire will never go anywhere. These are the exact one i have http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLCC2&P=7
As you can see they are screws galore. All in all i am very pleased with them.
Would like to find better screws that dont strip so easy but have not really looked hard yet.

I have two pairs - i would say great for bashing as a fair bit heavier and a little bit of a pain to put on.

I run them with some badlands...

yea the maximizers only have 8 screws per wheel, i thought they were easy to assemble but i guess it could be a pita if your use to gluing tires alot and are good at it. i cant find any specs saying how much they weigh, does anyone know so we could actually have some actual numbers .

Same setup I have. assembly was a pain, but they are doing the job.

i have the maximizers on my maxx geared for about 47mph neu 1515 and 4s lipo with badland treads. they look great and hold up well plus you can get them in different ofsets. once i had a problem with the tire comming out but it was because the balloning was so massive. It balloned so much that glued tires would have come unglued. if the tires are taped, have ribbs in them, or you are just racing and not holding your car in the air to see how much you can get the tires to balloon :) you will be fine with holding power. plus i did not use the extra rings for more protection from tires popping out. so mabey if i used them it would not have come out.

i have a set of maximizers also. I had crime fighters and now badlands in my gmaxx running 5s-6s with bk esc and now MMM. all in all, very happy with them. i like these the best out of the talons/gemini, revo response/hurricane, and stock i have. a little heavier than those, but when you running 5s-6s i actually welcome the slight added weight.
