You think this will work? (mamba max, medusa, 16.8V) - 05.29.2008, 09:35 AM

Mike was kind enough to cancel my backorder for a Mamba Monster so I could divert funds to another hobby.

I happen to have a Mamba Max that is in for repairs at Castle. I also have a Medusa 36-50-2200 motor that I already bought and a external BEC from another project.

Basically my question is do you think a Mamba Max ESC will run the Medusa motor on 14 cells (16.8v) with an external BEC and a fan.

I could set this up with no more money out of pocket. I'm basically trying to be cheap and not spend any more money. I got the 1/8" shaft motor so I can use standard pinions.

I could also run it on 12 cells (14.4v) if you think the ESC will handle it better.

Thanks for any input

Yes it should be fine - You might want to get a fan and an extra capacitor to help it run cooler

I guess posting the vehicle might help a little.

It would be going in a bone stock 3905 E-maxx. Only upgrade right now is an RPM bumper.

Thanks

Getting the MM to work on 14 cells might be tricky. Other than that, that setup should work as long as you aren't shooting for insane speeds. Like any new setup, watch temps as you run and gear accordingly.
