06.05.2008, 09:15 PM
hey everyone
i just bought a esc and for some reason when it first starts it start going in reverse even when its programed for one way only and the trigger is in neutral. It will do the same thing at random times also, but only in within the first minute or so. Then it goes away. does anyone know whats wrong? Im guessing its a bad connection but i dont know. Also the esc it Y-ed into the radio with my break servo.

Try recalibrating it to your radio.

Mine did this once. It jammed under mine 1:1 car. It was a pain to get out but since it never happened again i never worried about it.

Ive tried messing with the radio, it didnt change anything. Now it only does it withing the first few times that i touch the throttle but after that it goes away but still its really annoying that i still need to hit the breaks then wait a second the hit the throttle again just so it will stop spinning on its own

Try setting a bigger setting on the neutral range in the MGM
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
Silent...But Deadly

one way car mode, light motor break, .65sec acceleration to 100%, aout timing, 4s lipos, 12% neutral zone, no automatic connection of the neutral, freewheel, and no auto break in neutral.

ok heres a vid of what i mean, quality might not be the best but if you listen you can hear the motor spinning, and i havent even touched the throttle yet. Only after i tap the throttle do i get control back of the motor. I also added a pic of my truck, im still waiting on motor clamps.

I have the same controller and I experienced the same thing. I simply reset my controller to the stock settings and then the problem went away, then you can fine-tune it from there either with the radio or through the computer.. I’ve found it works better to program the MGM through the radio then through the computer.
Just a thought..
If you have the time review this thread, there is lot of extremely helpful and knowledgeable guys helping me out months ago with my MGM issues..

Best of luck working it out, the MGM is a awesome controller if you can getting working..

Hay Desmo...
My Gevo and controller are doing great!! Ever since I received my MGM back from the manufacture I've had nothing but great times with it. I went out and bought a used 22418 controller from a member here and I’m looking for my third MGM now for my other project.. The controllers (both of them) don’t get hot and work great.. I would still recommend this controller to anyone who is looking for something that just plain works great..

My 16018 make a bizzare thing last night. I put the switch to ON and when i pull the trigger, the controller don,t want to do anything. The steering servo operate, but not the controler.
I have put the switch back to OFF and put it back to ON again, and all was OK for the hole pack.
And another thing, i can,t pull more than 3500mAh of my pack before the LVC kick. My pack is a Flightpower 5000mAh, 4s, 25C, and my controler is on Reduce RPM mode.
