guys running 5S+ - 06.12.2008, 01:02 AM

Had a friend running a 2S and his truck didn't show any signs of losing power until he hit low voltage cutoff. I ran a 3S and noticed power dropping off alittle before my esc shut me down. I'm now running a 4S and really notice power dropping before I hit the cutoff. Does this keep going as you get to 5S and 6S? Or just poor lipos? Thanks

was the lvc set the same with 2,3, and 4s? because if you have the lvc set real low...like say 3 volts per cell, then you ll notice a decrease in performance before the lvc hits.

The 2S was set for 3v per cell the 3S and 4S were set for 3.1v per cell.

Were you using the same gearing on 4S or 5S that you have with 3S? If so you, everytime you go up in cell count you will only be drawing more AMPs. Try a smaller pinion or a bigger spur and gear it for the same speed as you were getting from 3S. My 1521/1Y on 10S lipo with the same gearing I use with 6S will draw a lot of AMPs.

I am just trying to find out if the loss in power before the pack reachs 3v per cell is normal the higher you go. I ordered a 5S but when my money order got there they were out of stock so he is sending me a 6S for the same price. I'm worried because my MM won't have low voltage cutoff but if this trend I see keeps going I won't have to worry about it. Really don't want to push the MM that far but want more speed and I'm going to wait before I get an MMM.

Firstly, I don't know if you can push 6S through the MM safely. 5S is OK after discharging a full pack down to about 20.6V. I think manual LVC works on 5S (I set mine at 16.5V/@3.3V per cell).

It does have mod 1 done to it but I think your right it might not last. It was checked so I know it arms on 6S. I don't even use the low voltge cutoff on my 4S because it slows down so much before it hits 3v per cell. Was really hoping the 6S would do the same. Thanks for the replys guys.
