What is the strongest velcro battery strap out there? I just snapped a new Gorilla Battery Strap after 1 run and was wondering if there is anything stronger?

Bunnings have velcro roll stuff with hook on one side loop on the other. A bit harder to get tight but it seems pretty tough not that I have been able to test it.

I hate bunnings but sometimes I can't avoid it.

You could look for some industrial velcro. I know Home Depot sells a nice wide velcro that are super strong. I bought the white colored ones and they are great.

Edit: Forgot you are in Australia and didn't even ask if you have Home Depot there , sorry. You can find the velcro in most Hardware stores.

Head down to your local upolstry shop and get some industrial use velcro. I use to build boats and we used it there the only way you will break that is with a knife plus it has huge holding power.

Yeah, ill head down to my local hardware store and check out what they got, just sucks as right now it is school hour traffic and the store is accross the other side of town

Went to Bunnings but they only had small rolls that you wrap around electrical cable. Have to try a few more shops tomorrow

Thats the stuff I think I am using but it is an inch wide.

Yeah, there was 1 box empty but didn't take notice of the width, it was 250mm long but didn't notice the width

one wrap straps by velcro. super strong, but thin (around 20mm wide i think) but u loop it over a few cm, and i challenge anyone to rip it apart. strongest, but then again, industrial stuff may be stronger again!

Hi, I had the same problem. I found these and they hold up well, they are extra heavy duty velcro straps. They come in several different lengths, but I normally cut them in half, use a soldering iron, and put a hole in the ends (the heat seals the edges of the hole and makes it stronger). I then clamp the ends down to my battery tray/box using large washers that have a rubber gasket (so they don't cut into the velcro). Or you can get one that is long enough to wrap completely around your battery. Just keep in mind that these straps are thicker than normal velcro.

I actually use the velcro straps for wrapping computer cables in data centers (free because I work in one ;) ), but I haven't had a single problem with them very strong. You can get them at any computer store.
